This policy covers two different things PranaRoot handles money for: your own Studio or Premium subscription (what you pay PranaRoot to use the platform), and class bookings (what your students pay you through PranaRoot). They work differently, so we've kept them separate below.
1. Your PranaRoot subscription
Every new account gets a 14-day free trial with full Premium access and no card required — you can evaluate the whole product before paying anything.
- Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually in advance, and renew automatically until cancelled.
- You can cancel anytime from Settings → Plan & Billing. Cancelling stops future renewals — you keep access for the remainder of the period you've already paid for.
- Subscription fees already billed are non-refundable, except where required by applicable law (for example, a payment taken in error, or a duplicate charge).
- If you believe you were charged incorrectly, email billing@pranaroot.com within 30 days of the charge and we'll review it.
- Your data is never deleted for non-payment — access is paused, not erased. If you resubscribe later, everything is exactly as you left it.
2. Class bookings, passes & memberships (student payments)
These payments go to the teacher, not to PranaRoot — Stripe processes the charge directly to the teacher's own account; PranaRoot is not the seller of the class.
- Each teacher sets their own cancellation window and refund rules for their classes, passes, and memberships — check the booking page or ask your teacher directly.
- By default, PranaRoot lets students self-cancel a booked class up to 2 hours before it starts. Cancelling a class booked with a pass credit refunds that credit automatically; drop-in payments are refunded manually by the teacher.
- After that 2-hour window, cancellation is disabled in the app — any refund at that point is at the teacher's discretion.
- PranaRoot is not a party to the dispute if a student and teacher disagree about a refund — we can help pull up booking/payment records, but the decision sits with the teacher.
- Who absorbs the processing fee. Because the charge goes straight to the teacher's own Stripe account, a refund returns the full amount to the student while Stripe keeps its processing fee — so the teacher is out that fee, and PranaRoot takes no cut of the payment and adds none of its own at any point. The same applies to a chargeback, which Stripe bills to the teacher's account directly.
